Drum Circle History
The Drum Circle on Siesta Beach is a local tradition over 25 years in the making. Starting in 1996, locals would form a drum circle every full moon. Due to public enjoyment and rising popularity, it became a weekly event!
The Experience
Many guests frequent this event from members of the Native Descended Nation, local churches, and groups from the Ringling School of the Arts. At times, you may see belly dancers and hula hooping as well! This weekly drum circle event is home to many cultures from African, Latin, Caribbean, and more. With such a unique crowd each Sunday, you are sure to witness a wide range of personality and fun, united by song and dance!
This long-standing tradition and one-of-a-kind experience makes you feel at home with the locals. The judgment free aura makes you feel accepted immediately. The longer the event goes and the more the sun sets, the louder the percussionists get and the dancing truly begins! This Drum Circle has become one of the largest in the country, it is truly an experience you won’t want to forget.
